Doll's Festival（雛祭り）

 On February 28, we decorated with customary dolls for the Girls' Festival in silk garden. Although there are many places celebrated on March 3 now, as for Kofu, April 3 becomes a day of the Girl's Festival. Aren't there many areas which consider Yamanashi Prefecture as it is better to carry out at the time when the flower of a peach actually blooms for the place of production of a peach, and will be performed in April? "TSURUSHIBINA" exhibited in "AMAKUSAYASHIKI" of Koshu is famous in Yamanashi.

Families with girls celebrate March 3rd as a day to wish for their growth and happiness. This family event originally began in the Edo era and is also referred to as the Doll's Festival because families of girls display a set of dolls representing the Emperor, Empress, their servants, miniature furniture, and so forth, on a five or seven-tiered stand. Ancient people transferred their sins onto the dolls and threw them in rivers.

2月28日シルクガーデンに、恒例の雛人形を飾りました。現在は、3月3日に祝うところが多いのですが、甲府は、4月3日が雛祭りの日になります。山梨県は桃の一大産地なわけですから実際に桃の花が咲く時期に行った方が相応しいと考え、旧暦で行う地域、家庭が多いのではないでしょうか。山梨では、甲州市の甘草屋敷に展示されたつるし雛が有名です。

女の子がいる家庭では、彼女たちの成長と幸せを願ってこの日を祝います。これが雛祭りで、江戸時代から行われている行事です。天皇、皇后、仕える人たちを模した人形と小さな家具などからなる雛人形を5段か7段のひな壇の上に飾ります。古代の人々は、雛人形に汚れや罪を乗り移らせて、身代わりとして川に流しました。伝統には、必ず意味があります。シルクガーデンでは、昔からの文化を大事にしていきます。
